Commercial Cooler Repair in Wynwood & Midtown — We Are Based Here
Our shop is on NW 34th Street. When a walk-in goes down on Second Avenue or a beer cooler quits behind the bar on a Friday night, we are minutes away, not across the county. For a district that runs on food and drink, that difference is the whole thing. For AC in the neighborhood, see AC repair in Wynwood.
Walk-in coolers, freezers, reach-ins, bar coolers, display cases and ice machines. 24/7. Call 786-905-5632.
Warehouse conversions were not built for walk-ins
Most of Wynwood is old industrial and warehouse stock that became restaurants, breweries and galleries. The refrigeration went in afterward, fitted into whatever space and whatever electrical service was already there.
That produces two recurring problems. First, condensing units end up in hot, poorly ventilated back rooms or against a west-facing wall, where ambient temperature is far above what the equipment was rated for, so it runs long and struggles in the afternoon. Second, the electrical is often marginal — we regularly find a walk-in sharing a circuit it should not be on. Both are fixable, and both get misdiagnosed as a refrigerant problem.
Friday night is when it matters
Refrigeration rarely fails at a convenient hour. It fails under load — on the busiest night, with the door opening every ninety seconds and the kitchen at full heat. That is exactly when most refrigeration companies are closed until Monday.
We answer the phone at two in the morning. If we cannot fully repair it on the spot, we will tell you honestly what we can do to hold temperature and protect your product overnight, and what the real fix is.

Common questions
My walk-in is sitting at 45 degrees. How urgent is that?
Urgent. Cold holding for food safety is 41 degrees Fahrenheit or below, and above that you are accumulating both product risk and inspection exposure. Move what you can to a unit that is holding, and call. Do not wait to see whether it recovers overnight.
There is ice building up on the evaporator. What causes that?
Usually the defrost cycle — a failed defrost heater, a bad termination thermostat, or a timer that is not initiating. It can also be a door gasket letting humid air in, which is common in a busy kitchen where the door takes abuse. Chipping the ice off treats the symptom; the cycle needs diagnosing.
Do you work around service hours?
Yes. We can come before open or after close so we are not working through your service. Tell us your hours when you call.
